Google Fiber Shutting Down Kansas City Full Service Locations After Union Beef?!?

Online chatter backed up by a detailed link reveals a local tech development of note.

Meanwhile our blog thinks it's worth it to at least mention the union beef from earlier this year that is relevant but might not have been a factor.

A reality check . . .

From the consumer end . . . After installation Google Fiber is kind of plug & play so this isn't really a crushing development.

The fiber bunnies have better phone support than anybody . . . And, honestly . . . Most Kansas City customers would rather do biz with Stalin than connect with whatever the Time/Warner legacy group is calling itself nowadays.

Here's a quick quote . . .

Google Fiber is closing all full service Fiber Spaces except Wes Des Moines and Orange County. This means here in Kansas City (Zona Rosa and Westport) Austin, Huntsville, and Provo will no longer have a full service Fiber Space for equipment or customer service issues.

The last day open is tomorrow according to the sign in the building . . .

Notice that none of the locations show up anymore.

Again . . .

This isn't cataclysmic news but POSSIBLY a sign that old school union flexing doesn't have as much power against tech giants as it did against old school industry that's locked into a location.

Developing . . .
