TKC doesn't want to talk to MOST of you people either. Meanwhile, a blessed few readers are actually pretty clever, funny and make my day with pithy reactions, remarkable insight, perspective and stories shared freely . . . The whole reason I do this thing really.

Canned conversation and phony showdowns staged by legacy newsies are becoming a thing of the past . . . And that might not be a tragedy.

Are election debates a thing of the past?

We've been noticing something. It's getting harder to get elected officials and candidates - some of them, at least - to talk to us. There was a time when participating in debates was a given, an automatic bipartisan agreement to answer questions in the name of civic discourse.
