Kansas State Senator Mike Thompson Worries About Panasonic Battery Plant Cleanup

Here's more concern confronting this "green" project that has earned a great deal of hype but not many deets . . .

TKC Tipsters tell us . . .

Johnson County Commission against the votes of Charlotte O'Hara and Michael Ashcraft keep shoveling more subsidies to this boondoggle project. $15 million last week to build them roads in a fire station... when we don't do that for any other development.

"The Panasonic project is Johnson County's Ukraine!!!  We keep shoveling money their way every week with new appeals."

Meanwhile . . . We in a related e-mail chain . . . We notice the conservative Kansas State Senator reaching out to constituents with some legit concerns about cleanup . . .

"People are so ignorant of physics they will buy the tweets and ignore the truth.  A friend of mine is intimately involved in the legal end of the cleanup at Sunflower...and he told me that currently nobody knows who is responsible to clean that mess up...the ARMY got off the hook when the county took it over according to him.  DO we think Panasonic will ever spend the time or money to clean it up? No!!  Ridiculous."

And so . . .

Despite the promise of jobs . . . Scrutiny of the deal seems to be gaining momentum.

Developing . . .
