Kansas City Mourns Unsolved Killings

We put this in the Sunday night compilation earlier but the news item deserves to be featured in order to remind us all that that this town's homicide crisis isn't just a symptom of any single administration but a longstanding local crisis that has yet to be solved.

Local advocacy groups hold vigil for victims in 680 unsolved homicides in KC metro area since 1970

There have been 680 homicides in the Kansas City metro that have gone unsolved since 1970. Local advocacy groups held a vigil for victims of those unsolved homicide cases Sunday night. Volunteers and family members of victims put up 680 reward posters in the grass at the corner of Crackerneck Road and 39th Street in Independence.
