Kansas City 2022 Homicide #104: Police Investigate Killing Near 52nd & Brooklyn

We're not at a 7% increase over last year's historic homicide pace - The 2nd highest ever reported in local history.

Here's the first report . . . 

Homicide 5200 block of Brooklyn

Just before 7pm, officers were called to 53rd Street and Brooklyn Avenue in regard to a shooting.  Upon their arrival they located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Officers immediately began performing life saving measures until EMS arrived.  Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers have detained a subject of interest in this case.

Detectives have responded to the scene along with our Crime Scene Investigators.  They will be processing the scene, speaking to witnesses and canvassing for video.

Kansas City police investigate after man shot, killed in 5200 block of Brooklyn Avenue

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a shooting that killed a man on Thursday night. The shooting happened at around 6:55 p.m. in the 5200 block of Brooklyn Avenue.
