INSIDERS REPORT CHAOTIC KANSAS CITY BUS ROUTES AMID DRIVER SHORTAGE!!!

Right now a KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER AND FRIEND OF THE BLOG provides a warning for local travelers.

RIDING THE BUS IN KANSAS CITY HAS BECOME A NIGHTMARE AMID A LEADERSHIP SHIFT!!!

To be fair . . . It has never been fun.

However . . .

- Again . . . The focus on the streetcar might be to blame here . . . The KCATA hasn't shown much interest in providing better service to bus riders and still focuses more of their energy on streetcar expansion.

- As many of our readers warned . . . Freebie rides have only worked to degrade the quality the bus. The move toward "equity" for local bus riders has come at the cost of service and safety for people who use this mode of transportation.

Now . . .

Here's advanced word and a story that's soon to break on local TV . . .

"I was on the Troost route today, not a usual thing. Anyhow, they had several buses not go out on the route because of driver availability. The bus was super full as in every seat full. The aisles were full elbow to elbow, the bus was hot and the crazies were on there . . . It could have turned into a fight if anyone escalated it, people on the bus were talking about shooting people.

"Routinely now people tell of buses simply not covering routes, two missed buses in a row, buses riding right past them. Employees are being downgraded for things they don't control. Then the bus drivers that are operating indicate they are way over hours and have had enough.

"The ATA has spun out of control and insider nepotism isn't a cure. That political patronage angle is what got things so messed up in the first place, along with a singular fixation on the Streetcar.  The situation today wasn't far from a near riot . . ."
