Apparently, when Kansas City EMTs & the Fire Department respond to fireworks injuries . . . They often tell each other that the patient has been "de-gloved" by a small to medium-sized explosion.

It's cruel yet funny and offers a real life glimpse at this town.

Here's more info . . .

"As of Sunday afternoon, Children's Mercy hospital said doctors had treated five patients between 7 and 17 years old.

"Injuries included burns from flames and explosion injuries from large fireworks, a punk hitting a child's face, and a mortar shell firework hitting a child's leg.

"The University of Kansas Health System says they treated 10 people for firework injuries as of Sunday afternoon.
