Kansas City Police Swarm Westport After Officer Involved Shooting Report

Night owls already know that reported gunfire near the Westport Ale House has lit up social media overnight.

The speculation is rampant and whilst most of it is B.S., the situation still merits concern. 

We'll go with what we can confirm right now and advise people to take tweets with a grain of salt until more info is available . . .

Police were called to a bar in the area before 11:30 p.m. on a reported shooting. It’s unclear at this time if any officers were injured. At least 5 ambulances were called to the scene.

KCMO police officers involved in Westport shooting Sunday night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department officers were involved in a shooting Sunday night in Westport near the 4100 block of Broadway Boulevard. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is also responding to the scene. Circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available. A KCPD spokesperson is en route to provide an update.

KANSAS CITY, Mo - Kansas City Police have shut down several blocks of traffic near W. 41st Street and Broadway Boulevard in response to an officer-involved shooting. Police were called to a bar in the area before 11:30 p.m. on a reported shooting. It's unclear at this time if any officers were injured.
