Kansas City Police Overnight Standoff Ends

Op 100/Police Standoff: 1700 block of E 28th St 

Just before midnight, officers were called to the 1700 block of E 28th St on a reported disturbance involving a weapon.  The victim, an adult female, advised the suspect, an adult male, was armed with a firearm making threats towards her and juveniles inside.  The first responding officers were able to evacuate the victim and three juveniles from the residence.  The suspect refused to exit the residence.

An OP 100/police standoff was called to bring additional tactical resources including negotiators to the scene.  Negotiators are attempting to make contact with the suspect in order to bring this situation to a peaceful resolution.
