Kansas City 2022 Homicides #87 & #88: Deadly Northeast Gunfire Saturday

This evening has proven exceptionally violent for Kansas City.

Here are the reports as police continue to investigate after a man & woman were killed in separate spates of gunfire . . .

Homicide 39th and South Benton

Today at about 5 PM officers were dispatched on the sound of shots in the area of 39th and South Benton. Upon arrival they found an adult male victim who had been shot. EMS pronounced that victim deceased.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. If you have any information please call the Homicide unit at 234-5043. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call the TIPS hotline at 474-TIPS, with up to a $25,000 reward for an arrest in this case.

Homicide 37th and Olive

Today just before 6 PM, officers were dispatched on a shooting in the area of 37th and Olive. Upon arrival they observed a vehicle in the road at 38th and Olive. As they approached they observed an adult female in the driver seat who had been shot. EMS pronounced that victim deceased. We do not have any suspect information and are asking for the public’s help.

Police investigating two homicides on Kansas City's east side

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is investigating two homicides Saturday evening on the city's east side. The first homicide was reported around 5 p.m. near E. 39th Street and South Benton Avenue. Police were responding to a shots fired call and when they arrived on scene they found a man who had been shot.
