Today a public display tagged and then quickly restored garnered midday local news headlines. 

Never mind that Kansas City's urban core has confronted a graffiti problem for YEARS and its mostly ignored by our political betters.

Here's the basics of the story before a crew of activists and well-wishers quickly restored the roadside display . . .

Six brightly covered doors which read “God’s doors are open to all” in front of United Church of Christ at 205 W. 65th were graffitied over with an anti-LGBTQ message.

A pride flag was also ripped down from a pole on the lawn of the church.

Kansas City church vandalized 2nd time since May

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City United Church of Christ is rallying together once again to overcome vandalism against its support of the LGBT+ community. In June, the church constructed a set of rainbow doors displaying the message "God's doors are open to all" to celebrate Pride Month while responding to the vandalism of a rainbow flag in May.

A mural in front of a Kansas City, Missouri, church with a message of open doors for all has a fresh coat of paint after someone defaced it with a homophobic slur Thursday. Community members showed up at the Kansas City United Church of Christ in KCMO's Brookside neighborhood with paint brushes in hand to erase the hurtful message scrawled on the mural Thursday morning.
