Kansas City Crash & Burn Update: Deadly Crash Shuts Down I-435

We normally don't blog traffic news but this back-to-work run-in has created traffic delays across the metro.

Here are the basics . . .

Among the four injured, one was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

According to the Kansas City Fire Department, the call came in at about 8:22 a.m. and involved up to six vehicles, including a dump truck.

Three people were pulled from a vehicle that was on fire and multiple were taken to the hospital.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the two left lanes of northbound I-435 are also closed at 87th street.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A fiery crash Tuesday morning killed one person and injured two others on Interstate 435 near 87th Street in KCMO. Police said a Kenworth dump truck was headed north on the interstate when its left front tire sustained a blow out.
