Kansas City 2022 Homicide Count Hits #80 After Deadly South Side Shooting

Once again . . . We're moving past last year's numbers -- The 2nd highest in KCMO history.

Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 200 block of W. 100th Terrace

Today at approximately 3:45 PM officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 200 block of West 100th Terrace in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival they found an adult male inside of an apartment who had been shot. Officers began lifesaving measures at that time. EMS arrived and transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  Multiple people were detained at the scene and detectives are talking with them now. We are not looking for any additional suspects at this time.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. Kansas City police investigating fatal shooting near 100th Terrace, Wornall Road

Police respond to homicide reported Wednesday on south side of Kansas City

Police are investigating a homicide reported late Wednesday afternoon in south Kansas City. Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West 100th Terrace, Capt. Leslie Foreman, a spokeswoman for the police department, said shortly before 5:15 p.m. Additional details were not immediately available.
