Kansas City 2022 Homicide #85 & #86: Two Men Shot Dead Sunday Morning

A double murder at daybreak continues this bloody summer weekend. 

There have been four KCMO homicides in the past 20 hours.

There were 82 at this point last year, as Kansas City finished with 157 homicides, the second most in history, only behind 2020′s 179 homicides.

Here is the first report on #85 & #86 . . .

 Homicide 4100 block of E. 59th Street

This morning at about 5:45 AM, officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of E. 59th St. in regard to a sound of shots which was updated to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located one adult male victim lying in a yard who had been shot.  EMS responded and pronounced that victim deceased. A second adult male victim was located in the street and had also been shot. EMS Transported that victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  We do not have any suspect information at this time and are asking for the public’s help.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence.
