The Kansas City Public Library announced Wednesday that 900 Chromebook computers are now available for checkout for free with a library card. The library is calling the move an attempt to improve technology access and digital equity for Kansas City residents.

MoDOT awarded $3.25 million for freight and rail improvements

The Missouri Department of Transportation says it has been awarded $3.25 million for improvements to the statewide freight network. The move follows an internal investigation by MoDOT into the network and questions over Missouri rail safety, raised by the recent derailment of an Amtrak passenger train.

Art in the Loop will introduce a new performing arts series next Wednesday at Oppenstein Park, the Downtown pocket park at 12th & Walnut. The free, public performance will feature electronic jazz, improv theater, and a puppet show next Wednesday, July 20.
