Downtown Kansas City New Gentry Too Scared To Enjoy Kemp Dog Park Debut?!?

Fair warning . . .

This area is junkie central after dark and whilst most folks are PROBABLY safe and shouldn't be scared of their down & out neighbors . . . Like anything else, it's not a destination without risks.

What's more important . . .

Kemp Park represents a desperate effort by city hall to try and push development Eastward despite few takers from the private sector and only a fancy bus stop providing most of the public funds.

A quick peek at this "amenity" targeting the new Downtown middle-class . . .

The Kemp dog park hours are 5 a.m. to midnight. The area is well-lit and has security cameras to help make dog owners more comfortable.

There is an enclosed area for small, elderly or handicapped dogs as well as an area for large dogs. A doggie drinking fountain is located on the north side of Kemp Park by the playground.

Of course . . . This town's very best development publicist blogger has more on the story . . .
