Will Kansas City 'Warning Curtain' Save Trucks From Defeat Vs. Independence Bridge?!?

A low tech solution could save companies a lot of money and locals a lot of time & trouble.

Check this quick quote stolen "liberated" by TKC from another hack blog and a peek at what the solution might look like . . .

"The city is hoping to install a warning curtain in front of the bridge by the end of the year, city spokesman John Baccala said Friday. When drivers hit a warning curtain, the hanging plastic tubes make a loud noise to alert drivers that they may not clear the entrance to the bridge."

Again, here's a peek at one implementation . . .

We suggest tiny faux saxophones for a bit of local flavor . . . Then again, that's probably a bad idea because they would suffer almost immediate theft.

Our question to loyal readers . . .

WILL THIS WORK TO STOP TRUCKERS FROM THEIR TRADITION OF CRASHING INTO THE SEEMINGLY IMMOVABLE INDEPENDENCE BRIDGE?!?

You decide . . .
