We all know that the KC Streetcar isn't REAL transit and the "toy train" has been nothing but a publicity stunt for developers showing off how they can subvert local democracy.
However . . .
IF THE STREETCAR IS AN "ECONOMIC ENGINE" THEN TURNING IT EASTWARD ONLY MAKES SENSE!!!
To be fair . . .
None of the financial claims surrounding this outdated mode of transit have much merit.
There's really no evidence that the streetcar boosts the local economy . . . In fact, most of the data reveals that construction of new rail lines serve as a detriment to established local biz.
Still, check the endless conversation & hype today . . .
