That includes Kansas City, where Moms Demand Action Against Gun Violence in America held a rally at the Berkeley Riverfront Park demanding a change.

"I'm a school teacher, and I'm a mom and so it does come close to home," said Kate Bowles, a volunteer with Moms Demand Action.

The group and their supporters wore orange at the rally to recognize the victims and survivors of gun violence.

"We have thousands and thousands in our community who have suffered from the senseless violence," said Rosilyn Temple with KC Mothers In Charge.
