SKETCHY KANSAS CITY SCHOOLS NOW RICH WITH COVID CASH!!!

Something to consider and a LOCAL NEWS REALITY CHECK as we plunge into a recession . . . 

KANSAS CITY SCHOOLS ARE NOW LOADED WITH COVID MONEY, SO CRITICS OF DEVELOPER INCENTIVES NEED NEW MATERIAL!!!

For awhile the complaints against outrageous subsidy resonated . . . But, as always, things change.

Now . . . Some thoughtful & wise developments might need help from local government. Don't worry . . . That's not going to happen and most of the cash awarded is just another exercise in the rampant political corruption that rules 12th & Oak. 

But we can dream.

What we know for sure is that the KCPS has more than enough money to waste . . .

"Bolstered by COVID-19 pandemic federal relief funds, Kansas City Public Schools is expecting to receive more than $325.5 million for fiscal year 2023, an increase of nearly $11 million — or 3% — from the current year.

"That total doesn’t yet include a potential increase in state funding, which could be imminent if Gov. Mike Parson approves a change to state law regarding charter school funding which the legislature passed in May."
