One of our favorite cranky neighborhood blogs shares a pointed question for a council rep.
Normally, we would discount this kind of criticism but it's a gripe that we've heard A LOT and 12th & Oak "working relationship" that local news has ignored.
Here's the word . . .
"Councilwoman Parks Shaw has been leading the City’s effort to help the homeless and also represents the fifth district which includes this location, so she led tonight’s meeting. I have no problem with that, but do have a problem with her husband, the Public Works Director, chiming in more than once to explain to the group why it is so important to help these people. I say, learn how to do your own job better before coming to the aid of your wife – as if she needs it."

Community Meeting on Southeast Side Homeless Shelter
Just returned home from a "community meeting discussing: Hotel Conversion of America's Best Value Inn", as in convert the ABVI (as the City calls it) at 11801 Blue Ridge Boulevard to permanent housing for the homeless at a cost of $2.97M for renovations alone. It wasn't so much a discussion as the City telling us...
