Here's word about a PLANNED EXERCISE and that offers a fact check to more fanciful ideas . . . 

KCPD: Department of Defense Training

"The Department of Defense, in conjunction with local and federal law enforcement agencies, will be conducting training in and around the greater Kansas City area, to include both Missouri and Kansas, beginning June 5th through June 17th, 2022. 

"This is a planned exercise in cooperation with local authorities and is not in response to any current world events. This exercise is expected to have minimal impact to the public. 

 "To maintain the highest level of safety, there are no public viewing or media opportunities planned during this event."
