Shooting Tuesday evening on Kansas City's east side injures 1

SOURCE: KMBC Kansas City police are investigating after a person was shot Tuesday evening near Van Brunt Boulevard and Bonita Street.Police said officers were called about 6:40 p.m. to the area on a reported shooting and police found a male victim in the street suffering from a gunshot wound.Authorities said the victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.


KCK police seize more fentanyl-laced pills, total now nearly 15,000

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - As part of an ongoing investigation, the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department reports the number of fentanyl-laced pills it's found during an investigation has increased from 6,000 to nearly 15,000. The department said this is a significant bust as the Kansas City area continues to experience record numbers of overdoses involving the highly-potent drug.


Local crisis center says 'hundreds' of kids are being sex trafficked around KC region

Tonight, 32 people are under arrest as part of a child sex trafficking investigation in Kansas and Missouri. About 15 people came from stings set up in Jackson, Platte and Clay counties.


SUV hits Kansas City, Kansas, home, damaging porch

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - An SUV hit a Kansas City, Kansas, home late Monday night, damaging its front porch. Emergency crews were called to a home in the 130 block of North 13th Street at about 11:15 p.m. It's unknown how the SUV ended up hitting the home, but a gas meter was also damaged.

Kansas City police said stolen World War I airplane engine parts have been recovered nearly a year after they were stolen.In June 2021, a Texas man traveling to Minnesota with the airplane motors spent the night at a Kansas City-area hotel.

2 hospitalized after weekend shooting near Country Club Plaza hotel

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City police continue to investigate a weekend shooting near the Country Club Plaza. It happened Saturday night around 10:15 p.m. According to police, one of the victims ended up inside the lobby at the Marriott's Country Club Plaza location. Officers located a second victim near 45th Street and Main Street.
