Kansas City 2022 Homicide Count Hits #70 After Death Of Two Gunfire Victims

Today's latest, deadly gunfire reports remind us of the continued threat to public safety on local streets as most of this town is concerned with the next big party.

Here's the first note . . .

LATE DEATH Homicide 2800 block of Van Brunt

On 06-07-22 at 6:30pm, officers were called to the 2800 block of Van Brunt in regard to a reported shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to collect evidence. Detectives began their investigation at the scene.

Last night, detectives were notified the victim died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.  The Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death a homicide.  Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.  The victim has been identified as Rodrick Roland b/m 05-21-1990.

Anyone with information is urged to call detectives at 816-234-5043 or call the TIPS Hotline to remain anonymous, 816-474-TIPS.  There is a $25,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Another report . . .

LATE DEATH Homicide 3200 block of E 8th. Street

On 05-28-2022 at 5:30am, officers were called to the 3200 block of E. 8th Street on a reported shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to the hospital and listed in critical condition.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene.  They collected evidence and detectives began their investigation at the scene.

Detectives were notified the victim died on 06-09-2022 at the hospital.  The Medical Examiner’s Office has since ruled the death a homicide.  The victim has been identified as Dale White w/m 07-20-1966.  Our homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
