Kansas City 2022 Homicide #73: Victim Shot Dead On Sunday

An otherwise peaceful afternoon was interrupted with reports of gunfire this afternoon as Kansas City continues to push past last year's homicide surge. 

Here's the first report . . . 

Homicide 5200 block of E. 29th Street

This afternoon at about 3:30 PM, officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of E. 29th St. in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival officers found an adult male victim lying on the ground who had been shot and was unresponsive. Officers began lifesaving measures at that time. EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. We do not have any suspect information and are asking for the public’s help.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call the TIPS hotline at 474-TIPS, with up to a $25,000 reward for an arrest in this case.

KCPD investigating fatal shooting in 5200 block of E 29th Street

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the 5200 block of East 29th Street. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, they located an adult male lying unresponsive on the ground with gunshot wounds.
