Deadly Kansas City crime continues to escalate and here's the first report from a tragic homicide amid the heat of the day . . .
Homicide 12th and Genessee St
Just after noon today, officers were called to a shooting in the area of 12th and Genessee. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, lying underneath the overpass. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene. They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.

Man found shot, killed under I-670 overpass in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting Monday afternoon underneath Interstate 670 in the West Bottoms. Police say they responded to a shooting call around noon in the area of 12th Street and Genessee Street where they located a man lying underneath the overpass with gunshot wounds.

Just before noon, KCPD received reports of the shooting near 12th Street and Genessee Street. Upon arrival to the scene, police located an adult male lying underneath the overpass.
