Jackson County Property Tax Ressessments Threaten Exec Frank White

This morning we note a bit of bad timing for the Jackson County Executive and beloved former World Series Kansas City Royals star.

To wit . . .

AHEAD OF ELECTION SEASON, PROPERTY TAX REASSESSMENTS REMIND VOTERS OF THE EXEC'S CULPABILITY FOR DRASTIC COST INCREASES!!!

Here's an image and FIRST WORD that an insider sent our way . . .

"Got this on my door again. Poor Frank, nobody's going to vote for him when they know he's just going to raise their taxes again. Democrat or Republican, nearly everyone agrees that he made a mess of assessments last time around. Thanks to gas prices and the economy, I don't think people can afford for him to make the same kind of mistake again."

The insider goes on but here are the basics . . .

- The Jackson County property tax crisis remains fresh in the mind of many voters and many locals fear that a repeat of the same assessment spikes could be "the last straw" which forces residents out of their homes.

- More than any other local politico, the current recession hurts Exec Frank White because most people don't know what the county does beyond collect property taxes . . . Hint: Nothing. That's pretty much all they do.

- If some reassessments hit before election season . . . The issue will be a critical talking point for his competition.

Finally . . .

This is the first time Frank White has confronted competition as an elected officials. We'll be eagerly watching how he'll handle TV interviews and questions thrown his way given his notoriously mediocre record of answering questions on the fly.

Developing . . .
