Jackson County Kicks-Off Pride Week

Jackson County Executive Frank White was front and center for this celebration and groundbreaking party on the courthouse steps.

Conservative denizens might question if this "diverse" celebration focusing on equity will win hearts & minds in Eastern Jack . . . Hint: It won't.

Still . . . Democratic Party leaders seem happy and smiling amid this social media flex . . .

Jackson County proudly kicked off #PrideMonth this morning at the Downtown Jackson County Courthouse with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Thank you to all of the #LGBTQ+ organizations & supporters who joined us in celebrating this month of inclusion & acceptance♥️๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

Beyond the inclusive tweet we notice hopeful campaigners in the crowd . . .

The message from activist Justice Horn . . .

"For the first time ever, Jackson County raised a pride progress flag at the county courthouse today. Be it proclaimed from Kansas City to Independence to Grain Valley, that June be Pride Month all across Jackson County!"

"Thank you to everyone who made this moment of visibility and empowerment possible for the many communities across the region. We also stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ folk fighting the good fight in their communities because that’s what pride’s about. Happy Pride Month!"
