Show-Me Trans Advocates Denying Concern Over Competitive Advantage Against Girls

Again . . .

Our bias here is that we don't think that high school sports are incredibly important or consequential no matter who is competing. 

To be clear . . .

For the overwhelming majority of people, high school sports is a total waste of time. 

However . . .  

This passage from a recent debate deserves consideration because there is a debate worth having on the topic even if it's all just silly matter of partisan slap fighting . . .

Many proponents of the bill see trans girls as having unfair advantages in sports — that kids who are assigned male at birth are biologically more capable when it comes to athletics. But Picker Neiss says that doesn’t reflect reality.

“What I want to make really clear in this is that no one is talking about putting boys onto girls’ sports teams,” she said. “The people that we're talking about are girls. For many of them, as they get older, they are taking hormone treatment, they're taking estrogen, they are presenting fully as girls, they are integrated as girls.”

For Missouri's transgender youth and their parents, the legislature's focus causes anxiety

For three years, Missouri Republicans have attempted to pass legislation prohibiting trans girls from playing on girls' sports teams. Parents say their children just want to play sports with their friends, and the measure would "codify into law discrimination against trans youth."
