Olathe firefighters are working to figure out what started a deadly fire late Friday night.They were called to a home on West 163rd Street off Ridgeview Road just before midnight Friday.Firefighters say a woman died in the fire, but they haven't released her name. An Independence police officer killed in the line of duty was honored at Missouri's annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service Saturday. Officer Blaize Madrid-Evans was among the 11 officers in Missouri who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2021. Four officers whose previous line of duty deaths were confirmed were also added to the memorial.

Two plain glass windows are broken open. The large stained glass window is broken in places, but the rest of the windows were spared and that, says the pastor, is a blessing.
