Kansas City Metro Police Chase Ends With Suspect Shot Dead

Officers deployed stop-sticks to disable tires on the vehicle after the pursuit crossed into Missouri. Authorities said the driver bailed out of the vehicle and ran off into a wooded area near Northwest 132nd Street and Running Horse Road.

Police and the highway patrol surrounded the area and attempted to get the man, who was armed with a weapon, to surrender.

Owen said multiple officers from KCPD and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The 26-year-old man was hit and killed. There were no injuries to law enforcement.
