Kansas City Mayor Q: 'I'll Be Damned If We Just Keep Shrugging Our Shoulders'

KCMO Mayor Quinton Lucas sent out a call to action hours after one of the worst school shootings in American history. 

Here's his message for those who haven't seen it yet . . .

Of course we respect his commitment and his passion. 

However . . . 

RIGHT NOW KANSAS CITY CONTINUES ALONG A RECORD BREAKING HOMICIDE PACE AFTER TWO YEARS OF HISTORIC MURDER COUNTS!!! WHERE'S THE URGENCY TO SOLVE OUR DEADLY COWTOWN TREND?!?

My grandma's favorite depression-era catchphrase comes to mind . . .

"Charity begins at home." 

If Mayor Q can save lives and fix this long standing school shooting crisis . . . More power to him. 

However . . .

We need that same energy and passion to solve deadly gun violence on local streets where an ongoing slaughter ALSO doesn't have any simple solutions. 

What we fear is that Mayor Q is caught up in a partisan talking point battle powered to sway Midterm voters . . . And THAT has very little benefit for the people of Kansas City in the midst of ongoing violence that continues to plague local streets.
