REMEMBER WHEN POLITICOS CLAIMED THAT THE KANSAS CITY LADY SOCCER TEAM WAS BUILDING THE STADIUM WITHOUT TAXPAYER HELP?!?!

We don't blame you if you don't recall, it turns out that bit of disinformation (lulz) only lasted a few days.

Officials on Thursday afternoon authorized the city to apply for $6 million in tax credits from the Missouri Development Finance Board, on behalf of the Kansas City Current. If approved, the credits will fund infrastructure, public-facing amenities and other costs in preparing 7.1 acres at the Berkley Riverfront for construction of the team's almost $120 million planned venue.

The Kansas City Council provided an assist for work on the nation's first purpose-build stadium for professional women's soccer. Officials on Thursday afternoon authorized the city to apply for $6 million in tax credits from the Missouri Development Finance Board, on behalf of the Kansas City Current.
