Kansas City Crime Scene: Nobody Protested Ongoing Urban Slaughter

Crime is ramping up across the metro as the weather gets warmer. 

Sadly, cable & social media "news" didn't inspire protest on this front despite the uptick in homicide, property crime and urban decay.

Man charged with murder in fatal shooting outside Family Dollar in Kansas City

A 23-year-old man is accused of carrying out a fatal shooting that unfolded last month in the parking lot of a Family Dollar in Kansas City's Oak Park Southeast neighborhood. Lionel Bolton, of Shawnee, was charged Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court with second-degree murder, unlawful weapon use and two counts of armed criminal action.


Kansas City company hired to police drugs in US horse racing

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A deal for Drug-Free Sports International to police medication in horse racing is in place two months before the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority take effect. The Kansas City, Missouri-based company has overseen testing and enforcement with the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NCAA.

KCK man found guilty in murder of pregnant girlfriend

OLATHE, Kan. (WDAF) - A jury convicted a Kansas City man of killing his girlfriend and her unborn child. The jury found 30-year-old Devonte Wash guilty of capital murder. Officers found the body of 23-year-old Ashley Harlan and her unborn child inside an Olathe home at East Westerfield Place and Prairie Street in January 2018.


Prairie Village police now working with FBI in woman's 2019 vanishing

Prairie Village police are now working with the FBI on the mysterious disappearance of Angela Green.The wife and mother has not been seen in three years.Police said it's an active investigation and unlike any they've handled before.Green was 51 when she was reported missing by her daughter in 2020.


Kansas City man wanted in the death of a Boone County firefighter has died in a hospital - ABC17NEWS

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) A Kansas City man accused of the death of a Boone County firefighter had a warrant recently issued for his arrest after he miss a court date has died in a hospital. The Boone County Sheriff's Office has confirmed has Kevin Brunson died in a hospital.

KSHB 41 News first reported the death of 46-year-old Roman Yslas in December. Kansas City, Missouri, police said he was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Barrewoods Apartments.

KCK police investigating fatal shooting near 73 and Parallel

According to the department, officers were called to the area Monday evening in regards to a shooting. At the scene, police found an adult male who was dead outside of the Brougham Estates apartment complex.

Update: Overland Park police said in an email at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday that Barbara Spearman had been found safe. Overland Park police are asking for the public's help finding a woman who has been missing since Monday.
