Kansas City Crime Scene: Homicide #58 Amid Already Violent 2022

Once again we note the record breaking pace of this year's homicide . . . Again, we're quickly passing 2020 and 2021 . . . The deadliest years in KCMO history respectively.

And so we check the reports from today's killing along with news on police action, court cases and crime reports from across the metro . . . As always, we try to find a bit of hope at the end of the TKC news gathering . . . 

First . . . Here's the first report on today's murder . . .

Homicide 49th and Bellefontaine

This morning just after 9am officers were called to the area area of 49th and Bellefontaine on a shooting call. There were also numerous sound of shots calls in that area as well.

On arrival officers were directed to an adult male shooting victim in the parking lot of an apartment building there.

The victim was unresponsive and EMS was summoned to the scene. They declared the victim deceased there at the scene.

Detectives are canvassing the area now to hopefully identify any witnesses to give them a better idea of what led up to the shooting. Crime scene investigators are also processing the scene for any evidence as well.

KCPD investigating Tuesday morning homicide on Bellefontaine

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a Tuesday morning homicide. The homicide happened sometime before 9:45 a.m. at 49th Street and Bellefontaine Avenue. No other information was immediately released. KSHB 41 has a crew on the way to the scene.

Man critically injured in Monday night shooting in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a shooting that left a man critically injured on Monday night. The incident happened near east 22nd Street and Prospect Avenue at around 9:38 p.m. Officers responded to the scene on reports of a shooting and found the man in the street.
