One of the most dangerous stretches of roads records another killing.

Homicide Cleaver II blvd and 71 Hwy
Just after midnight officers were dispatched to the area of 45th/Cleaver II blvd and 71 highway on the highway on the sound of gunshots.
Officers responded to the area and located a vehicle stopped on the highway southbound above Cleaver II. Upon approach officers located two people in the car that appeared to have been shot.
One of the victims, an adult female, was unresponsive. Another victim, an adult male, was conscious and indicated that shots were fired into their vehicle from another unknown vehicle at that location.
Both victims were transported to the hospital by EMS, the male has what appears to have non-life threatening injuries and is stable. The female was declared deceased at the hospital by medical staff.
Officers and crime scene investigators have closed the highway and are processing the scene for evidence. The highway will remain closed for at least 1-2 more hours.
If anyone was in this area on the highway at this time and saw anything they are asked to call the Homicide Unit directly at 816-234-5043, or the TIPS hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. It is very important if anyone saw anything, detectives really need any information or suspect or vehicle description.
There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
