Kansas City 2022 Homicide #63: Deadly Gunfire Erupts Sunday Afternoon

Deadly violence persists on local streets and doesn't stop for Sunday.

Here's the latest report as KCMO continues along a RECORD BREAKING PACE for homicides following the outbreak of the COVID pandemic . . .

Homicide 79th Ter and Campbell

Today at 2:20pm officers were called to 79th ter and Campbell on a shooting call.

On arrival officers were directed to the victim (an adult male) who was in the street just east, unresponsive.

Officers summoned EMS to the scene who declared the victim deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was at the location in contact with someone in an unknown vehicle when a disturbance led to shots being fired from the vehicle and the victim was struck.  The unknown vehicle then left the scene.

Detectives and Crime Scene personnel will be canvassing for witnesses and processing the crime scene for evidence.

If anyone was in this area and saw anything and has not talked to detectives yet,they are asked to call the Homicide Unit directly at 816-234-5043, or the TIPS hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. o that . . ."

Man dies from shooting on Campbell Street

KCPD investigating fatal shooting near E 79th Terrace, Campbell Street

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is investigating a shooting in the area of East 79th Terrace and Campbell Street. Officers responded around 2:20 p.m. Sunday and arrived to find one victim who had been fatally shot. KCPD dispatchers report there is no suspect information at this time.
