Science Uncertain Why Many Shawnee Mission Schools Remain Masked?!?

A fun fact for the future . . .

WHEN IN DOUBT IT LOOKS LIKE LOCAL HEATH LEADERS ARE GOING TO DEMAND COVID MASK COMPLIANCE!!!

Don't worry, there's no evidence or explanation required . . . Dictates of un-elected officials are reason enough.

Or at the very least . . . That's what seems to be the lesson that most of us should take from a recent power move.

To be fair . . . Read this explanation and PLEASE tell us if we're missing any medical reasoning or evidence presented . . . Because this seems more like a cultural transition wherein mask dress codes are a new requirement of American life . . . Which might be inevitable given endemic COVID . . .

Dr. Angela Myers, the division director for Infectious Diseases at Children’s Mercy, spoke on how she feels the move will influence parents as well as other districts. "I wouldn’t view it as a setback," Myers said. "I’m sure some probably do, but I view it as the school being nimble. 'Hey, we’ve got some absences, and we really want everybody to be at school and learn because we’ve lost so much in the last couple of years.'"Myers says those absences are very likely something other than COVID-19 as the hospital has seen a significant drop with next to zero cases locally.

She says the best way to prevent young kids from passing it back and forth is to “keep that (mask) policy in place.”
