Impending Kansas City Country Club Plaza Destruction Debuts

A luxury development in a mostly empty Kansas City entertainment district doesn't really seem like sound investment. 

On the bright side . . . Other than market forces, the only opposition is Historic KC . . . A lovable group of scamps who lose EVERY local "preservation" fight they've ever started.

Nevertheless, here's a peek at the fanciful plan as the US confronts a historic housing bubble . . .

Drake Development LLC on Wednesday submitted an approximately $60 million proposal to build a nine-story building with multiple restaurants and high-end condo residences in place of The Seventh Church of Christ, Scientist at 604 W. 47th St. Cocina 47 will require as much as a 112-foot height variance from the city's Plaza Bowl overlay, which caps new building heights in that area of the Plaza at 45 feet.
