Greitens' Ride-Along Hot Mess Proves KCPD Still Suck At Politics

Tonight, with all due respect and a very honest willingness to help, we share a little collage and a political reality . . .

Kansas City Police still haven't learned how to navigate tricky political reality and they're likely to get spanked embarrassed again at the outset of another election season.

Because everyone else wants to forget, it's always worth remembering that THE ALMOST TOTALLY CLUELESS POLITICAL ARM OF KANSAS CITY POLICE GLEEFULLY ENDORSED MAYOR Q . . .

Here's a previous bit of TKC parody artwork that gave us a great many giggles but captures a real life moment of fleeting bliss . .

They all seem so happy but we doubt they still get together for public cuddles.

Here's the thing and our donation to the municipal discourse . . .

To navigate effectively in Kansas City -- Any political force has to cope with the reality that Kansas City is a corrupt, progressive, union cowtown isolated amid red state flyover country run by good old boys who care far more about their slice of the pie than culture war politics.

For the most part . . . That's it. With a caveat that dead politicos sometimes turn up along with the occasional sexual misconduct allegation and scare everyone straight for at least a few days . . .

Sorry, neither Tucker Carlson nor MAGA care enough about this part of the world to waste much time understanding our politics.

And so . . .

This Greitens hot mess might be a good thing because it reminds us that police are all too human and get caught up in culture war MSM news cycle just like your drunk uncle or crazy liberal aunt.

And whilst their political "leaders" (lulz) can yell at tow truck drivers like nobody's business . . . The politically active denizens of the KCPD are often out of their depth when it comes to dealing with so many KCMO power players who have far more experience working the system to their advantage.

In fairness, despite the dust up involving a disgraced former Gov, there are some bright spots and the KCPD has mostly done an EXCELLENT JOB with their social media game and community outreach to local reporters that's an increasingly big part of shaping the discourse  . . . Even if most KC politics STILL happens by way of shady backroom deals.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Police Department wants to see if anyone broke the law when Eric Greitens, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, went on a ride-along last week with an officer. Greitens posted a video of the event on social media, which included statements about Kansas City "defunding" police, a politically controversial phrase.
