Crissy Dastrup Outpaces Kansas City Controverisal Councilman Bunch

First a truism . . .

It's impossible not root for a lady who calls herself Crissy . . . Especially when she's putting forth an honest and impressive effort against an incumbent who mostly governs by way of mean tweets.

Even more importantly in terms of our civic life . . .

Kansas City support for cyclist supremacy activism has faded ever since the East side started pushing back against bike lane destruction of local streets.

Accordingly, in fairness and realizing the council dude Bunch does, in fact, have a great many craft beer drinking buddies supporters who will give him cash . . .

Here's a story we wanted to emphasize right now . . .

CRISSY DASTRUP STARTS STRONG AND NOW HAS MORE CAMPAIGN MONEY ON HAND THAN COUNCIL DUDE BUNCH!!!

We just checked and the incumbent's latest report reveals $18,770.70 according to the MO Ethics website.

Meanwhile . . .

We realize that the 4th District has a long history of supporting progressive women over dudes who mostly just argue with everyone in Midtown.

Accordingly . . .

Here's an update from the Dastrup campaign that seems exhilarated and cheerful which might be a bit too much for our curmudgeonly bloggy community but will serve an upstart KCMO politico well . . .

City Council candidate Crissy Dastrup raises 21K in two months

KANSAS CITY, MO. - Crissy Dastrup, candidate for City Council’s 4th District-in-District seat, has raised over $10,000/month since beginning her fundraising efforts. Crissy has outpaced every in-district City Council candidate yet fundraising for the 2023 election, including the incumbent for her seat, Eric Bunch.

“Thank you to everyone who has contributed to my District 4 City Council campaign and supported our vision of community-centered public service in Kansas City. I’m encouraged by our fundraising this quarter, especially when it means paying campaign staff a living wage. I’m grateful that I was able to make this fundraising effort while simultaneously meeting voters out in the community; it’s extremely important to me that no matter what, the people of Kansas City come first. Money isn’t everything, but it certainly will help ensure that the 4th District has a representative who will advocate and work for them every day- not just during campaign season.

If you want to help us connect with neighbors and build a better future for Kansas City, please consider joining our campaign. We're just getting started.”

-Crissy Dastrup, 4th District City Council candidate

Crissy began fundraising in February of 2022 and announced her campaign on March 1st. First quarter fundraising closed on March 31st, just thirty days after launching her website, social media, and messaging. Her total Q1 fundraising totaled $21,425.00.
