MACHETE MAN CAPTURED IN METH TOWN!!!

Our 2nd favorite metro city endured another wild day amid slightly warmer weather.

Here's a scary description of life on Independence, Missouri streets and (given that nobody was seriously hurt) a reminder of why we joke about the sketchy reputation of our neighbors . . .

The department says when they arrived on the scene the man refused to give up his weapon. Police say at that point officers were called in a SWAT team to subdue the man. The roadway was blocked for about an hour as officers tried to negotiate with the subject. After SWAT arrived, the man still refused to drop the machete.

Police then say a SWAT officer a nonlethal rubber bullet was deployed, striking and distracting the subject long enough for officers to take him into custody.
