Kansas City South Side 'EBT' Demolition At Old UMB Bank

Locals on the "low end" only know a South side razing site by the UMB bank signage . . . Meanwhile, some of our AWESOME TKC READERS with a bit of class were kind enough to send us a photo and remember that this is the last location of the EBT.

One of Kansas City's last remaining 5 star restaurants shut down in 2015.

Here's a bit of backstory . . .

"EBT. For some Kansas Citians the acronym has no particular meaning, but for long-time residents it's a reminder of the former downtown department store, Emery, Bird, Thayer & Company — or the restaurant that takes its name and some of its decor from this former Kansas City institution. EBT the restaurant announced to staffers Monday that it would close on December 31."

A few images of old school KC "EBT" history . . .

The tear down has attracted some attention off from drivers along State Line & and Carondelet drive as this town now seems to have lower expectation amid the Prez Biden years . . . And many hope for yet another fast food option near the highway.

Developing . . .
