Kansas City 2022 Homicide #26: Woman Shot Dead In Trailer Park

The latest local killing keeps Kansas City on a tragic upward trajectory in our homicide count. 

Moreover, the Northland location of the homicide reveals that a worsening spike in domestic killings is part of the local problem that's not just confined to the urban core.

Homicide 11800 block of N Illinois

(Saturday Night) just before 11pm officers were called to the 11800 block of N Illinois in regard to a disturbance involving a weapon.  While en route, the call was updated to a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult female, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a residence.  EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased.

Officers have taken a subject of interest into custody.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.
