A Kansas City, Missouri, man was sentenced in federal court Monday for his role in a conspiracy to distribute more than 150 kilograms of methamphetamine and more than 10 kilograms of heroin, which was valued at more than $1.7 million.

Deadly shooting involving Independence police under investigation

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - An investigation is underway following a deadly shooting Friday night in Independence, Missouri. The shooting was reported in the area of U.S. 24 Highway and Noland Road. Sgt. Bill Lowe with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells FOX4 no officers were injured in the incident.

Lloyd Casimiro Cruz, Jr. of Polo, Missouri, which is about 55 miles northeast of Kansas City, has been charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building and picketing in a Capitol building.
