Another killing in less than 24 hours impacts Kansas City, Missouri.
Here are the basics . . .
Homicide 27th and Brooklyn
This afternoon at 2pm, officers were called to E 27th Street and
Brooklyn Avenue in regard to a shooting. Upon their arrival they located
two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle at
the location. EMS responded to the scene and transported both victims to
the hospital.
One of those victims is currently listed in stable condition. However, the second victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene. They processed the scene for evidence and canvassed for witnesses.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call them directly at 816-234-5043. Or you can remain anonymous by calling the Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 cash for information leading to an arrest in this case.

The killing is being investigated about a block west of the police department’s East Patrol Division Station.
Unofficially, this is the 27th homicide so far this year.
Even more importantly . . .
Again, this latest killing puts Kansas City on pace with the past two years of record breaking homicide stats.
Last year around this time the count was 25 and in the worst year from KCMO murders . . . The count was 27 at this date on the calendar.
