Kansas City 2022 Homicide #25: Deadly Shooting On Van Brunt

This year the homicide count continues to keep pace with record-breaking counts over the past two years.

This week we were relatively hopeful about lower murder numbers despite Mayor Q's renewed attempt to loot the police budget.

Sadly, tonight police investigate the latest deadly spate of gunfire.

Here's the report . . . 

Homicide 2400 block of Van Brunt

Just after 5:15pm, officers were called to E 24th St and Hardesty Ave on shots fired.  While en route the call was updated to a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at E 24th St and Van Brunt.  EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where the victim was pronounced deceased.

Detectives have responded to the scene as well as Crime Scene Personnel.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and speaking to any witnesses.
