Downtown Kansas City Hype Machine Demands Data To Spin Into Stadium Plan

Local surveys are mostly a gimmick to collect e-mail addresses and fake consent without having to bother with pesky traditions like local Democracy.

A rudimentary bit of tech knowledge has proved effective in helping 12th & Oak manufacture consent for a great many deplorable schemes . . . Like the upcoming Downtown ballpark that nobody wants to pay for . . .

Here's their latest effort to collect data carried dutifully by a hack development blogger . . .

"The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. As an incentive for participating by April 8, the Downtown Council is holding a drawing for two prizes: a $100 gift card to B&B Theatres or a voucher for four tickets to a future KC Current match."

Downtown Council Launches New Resident Survey

The Downtown Council has launched its annual resident survey, a tool the organization says helps it identify and lobby for improvements desired by people who live in greater downtown. Jared Campbell, resident engagement manager for the Council community improvement district, said the results of last year's survey, the first that had been done since 2013, led to an increased emphasis on providing places for dog owners to take their pets.


It sure seems like the Royals are getting ready to move downtown

There have been rumors of the Royals being interested in moving to downtown Kansas City ever since John Sherman purchased the club in 2019. At his introductory press conference, Sherman, a longtime downtown supporter, said the decision on whether to push for a downtown stadium once the Kauffman Stadium lease expires in 2031 would be "driven by what's best for the club, what's best for the fans and what's best for the community."
