Road Rage Suspect Charged After Independence, MO Father Gunned Down


Here's another chapter in a sad story and tonight's reminder to drive safely and avoid conflict with strangers on the road.

A summary from local news tonight . . .

Jackson County prosecutors charged Joshua A. Mongold, 34, Friday with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action in the death of Riley Youngblood.

Youngblood, 23, was found slumped over the wheel of his pickup truck on Jan. 20 at U.S. 40 Highway and South Valley View Road.

He was taken to a hospital but a few days later died.

According to court documents, the initial investigation revealed Youngblood was involved in what appeared to be a road-rage incident with another motorist at the intersection of southbound Little Blue Parkway and U.S. 40 Highway.
