MISSOURI DEMOCRAT PLOTS TO DEFUND KANSAS CITY MUSEUM!!!

There's a low key plan in the works which threatens to devastate funding for a Northeast Kansas City institution.

A bit more context . . .

AN URBAN BATTLE OVER KANSAS CITY MUSEUM FUNDING EMERGES BEHIND THE SCENES!!!

A trusted insider explains a political move that's far more captivating than all of today's snow news coverage . . .

"This an interesting end around play . . . The bill is cleverly written so that elected officials might not know they'll be taking money away from the KC Museum."

Take a look at the work sponsored by State Senator Barbara Anne Washington . . .

SB 898 - Current law authorizes the city of Kansas City to levy a property tax to be used exclusively for museum purposes, provided such levy shall not exceed $0.10 per $100 assessed valuation, and further provided that the proceeds of such levy are used exclusively for museum facilities in existence on August 13, 1978. This act allows the proceeds from such levy to be used for all museums located in the city.

Now . . .

What's even more interesting is that insiders contend this is a move to secure funding for Bruce Watkins Cultural Heritage Center and Museum . . .

And so . . .

Amid so many other problems this session . . . Look for an INTENSE debate among Kansas City Democratic Party leaders over cash, equity and local history.
